I've seen a few people doing this, and I thought it would be a neat idea to see how my style has changed the past four years. I'm only doing 2006 - 2009, because those are the only icons I have access too. All the other ones are on disk burried somewhere in my office. (Although I'm sure things from 2002-2005 would make me cringe now).
( ICON EVOLUTIONCollapse )2010
Well it was definitely interesting looking back on things. I wonder what new fad will pop up this year and if any of them will stick. I'll definitely be sticking to plaing around with coloring more.
Some things you can probably expect to kick off the year.
+ More experimentation with coloring.
+ I've been starting to play around with gradients, more.
+ I'll still continue to rock the newspaper/magazine style, like I've said before I love it.
+ Half & Half, I've been loving the icons I make that are split between color and black and white. Definitely my favorite "newer" thing to do.
Also if the trend continues... you should have more icons from me this year then any of the previous ones. Each year I seem to make more and more icons, as I group more things together. Which is odd, as I get older it becomes more of a stress reliever I think. Creating icons is also a good way to practice around with different stuff for my work as well.
